1988 suzuki lt230E motor trouble
My custom built off road single seat buggy is powered by a 1988 suzuki lt230E. When the motor is cold, it runs great, but for some reason once the motor is warm, it wont idle. It sputters, and will die out if i dont give it throttle, but when i do, it runs perfectly fine. If it dies out, i can refire it but i do have to give it throttle. It does have a cobra exhaust on it, however i had to cut about a 4" piece out to fit it in my buggy. I dont know if the carb has been rejetted, and since i cut the piece out of the exhaust I havent adjusted the carb. Any ideas as to what i should do?

I would start by properly setting the idle mixture first, then start looking at the jetting overall. On the surface it sounds like your idle mixture is on the lean side as in general as an engine heats up jetting leans out. Watch my video to properly set the idle mixture screw (air or fuel) this will also help determine if your pilot jet is the correct size or not.
