We know what you're feeling- the fluid aisle can be daunting these days. Just about everything comes in conventionals, blends, and full synthetics - with difference price tags to match. We assembled a helpful guide to set the facts straight about synthetics and why they may or may not be be right for you: ATV Tech: Fluids, Let's Talk Synthetic vs. Conventional - ATVConnection.com |
Full synthetic is a no brainer , blends are a rip off they cost almost as much as 100% synthetic but only have 10%-20% , so your better off to mix your own blends.
I use Amsoil Full synthetic and right on the label it states it can be mixed with dead dinosaur oil (Conventional) if you want ,then atleast your mixed at 50-50 or better. Now in a car that takes 5 quarts or more snynthic can get pricy but a ATV only needs 2 quarts and you almost get it back since synthetic can run higher hours before needing a change. |
Some weights of oil I haven't even seen in non-synthetic, like 5W-50, but I haven't been looking for dinosaur oil and may have missed them.

I use 0W-40 since it good for a wide temp range, coldest winter to hottest summer.
I think 0W-40 only comes in synthetic also. |
