The engine only turns over like 1/8 times of trying to start it. And when it does it's for half a second or less and as soon as I let off the start button it dies. Also I think I mentioned before that I was riding and it just stalled. Once I get it started and it doesn't shut off at idle, I'll get maybe 50 yards and it dies.

ok I just went out for the first time today tried to start it. Starter is turning but no signs whatso ever of the engine turning over. My problem is that a week or so ago we hooked up my friends battery charger to it and tried to start it and it fired right up. Yesterday it fired up but would not stay running for more than a minute. At this point I am thinking it could be the spark plug or maybe the jets are dirty. Thoughts?

Checking for spark is one of the first things I mentioned. Pull the plug and with no load on the engine it may turn over fast enough to see if you have spark or not. With the plug in ,battery checked out good and starter turns, but engine isn't engaging or hesitant to engage then it still could be a worn starter clutch. And yes even if it cranks and dies it could be a carb problem on top of that.Don't let it over whelm you,it's just a process of elimination. Check one thing at a time to narrow down the problem.Again the manual can help with it's step by step trouble shooting checks and guides.
