Default Trailer/camper

Does anyone know who makes the trailer that has a camper on it. Like its half trailer and half camper. I really need to get me one of these. My wife want go with me no more when I go atv riding. She says the heat is to hot. Last time she went she stayed in the truck with the ac running the entire time. So If I can get one of these units. She can still be in the ac, but out of the truck.

I believe you're talking about the Fleetwood Scorpian.

Fleetwood Scorpion Website

Starts at $13,499.

Trailer is 7,000lb GVWR (or so) and towable by a 1/2-ton truck.

Actually pretty nice. I've seen the inside of one some friends of people in my riding group have one. They got their's pretty cheap (he works for a dealer). Has pretty much everything you could want in a toy hauler. They even have the porch option thing. Even blocks the wind at Pismo (20+ MPH).

seems like it would be cheaper to get a used car hauler and throw a tent trailer on the front

Ya 14k I would rather just go buy a camper put a hitch on the back of it and tow a light trailer with the quads in the back. I JUST saw that from some guy on here that made a post in the ford 7.3l desiel forum...that could probably save you at LEAST 2k....but that scropion is freakin sweet as hell!!

For $700.00 that aint bad. Not real stylish, but real effective and think of the toys you could get with the money saved.

You can never have enough toys.

That was always my idea for a redneck toy hauler. But these are pretty nice looking units. Everything is done.

Though my idea was to add some pretty good sized tanks, instead of the small tanks that come with popups. Like up to 100 gallon fresh and 60/60 (black/grey). Also to have a sliding adjustable axle setup (ala big 53' semi-trailers). Then if you were going without the toys you could slide the axle forward to relieve tongue weight.

I have a 1/2 ton truck with only a 4.6 V-8 so weight is a BIG issue. The truck I seen hauling that Scorpion was a F-150 super cab (ext., not crew) short bed 4x4. I'd bet on a 5.4 V-8 though. Cuesta Grade is a nasty bugger! (This was at Pismo and they live in the area where I live.)
