How well do the Holeshot ATRs do in the mud? I know they are an awesome trail tire and suprisingly good snow tire, but I will be riding occasional mud and this is my deciding factor between ATRs or Mudlites.

I rode quite a bit of mud this weekend, and the ATR's did OK. Alright, I live in the desert, so my mud riding experience is limited! I would say for "occasional" mud, they would be a good choice, because they do so well on most everything else.

The one place the ATR's aren't greatest is on hardpack. The traction ***** are tall and widely spaced (to shed mud), so hardpack traction isn't the greatest.

I have the Maxxis Bighorn Radials. They do suprisingly well in the mud. I'm really happy with them.I heard the Holeshot ATR's only let down was in mud.

From my experience,

Type of surface: snow, sand, hardsurface, mud, deepmud, handling

Holeshot: Excellent, good, good, good, so,so, Excellent
ATRs

Mudlite: good, good, good, Excellent, good, so,so

Overall, Holeshot ATRs are my favorites!

Can you powerslide Mudlites in 2x4 in the dirt?

Yes, you can powerslide Mudlite, but not as even close as the agile ATRs are at powersliding!

The ATRs work fairly well in the mud. They are no radial OUTLAW, but they work OK.

ATR's rock! But Mudlites have the best bang for your BUCK!!! ATRs work great on the trails but get packed with mud when you're in the deep stuff. I have both and switch em out depending on where I am going to ride... When I do trail systems I go with the ATRs but when I do parks and wet weather riding I do the Lites... If I could only buy one tire it would of been the lites because they are better at handling all conditions...
