That's to much tire for the little Rancher, in my opinion. I ran 27" Blackwaters for a short time, and felt like it was a mistake. I now run 25" Holeshot ATR's on beautiful ITP 12X7" aluminum rims.

To go with a larger tire on a rancher I would suggest different rims and a lift kit as well. I would not suggest putting a 28 inch tire on a Rancher 350 though. There is just not enought motor there to pull it, There is alot of stress on my BigBear to move those 28's that are under it. I wouldnt go no larger than a 26 if I was using a "super aggresive" tire or a 27 "moderately aggresive" tire.

I would not put 28's on, just to big a tire for that machine. I have 26 inch Dirt Devils on ITP alum rims and noticed some power loss due to the larger tire, I can only imangine what 28's would do.

Lomax:
I have the same bike as you. I would love to see a pic of your bear with those 28's. Super Rancher: I'm with you. I'm about to get larger tires on stock rims. I just installed a moose lift first. I really wanted to go with 27" ITP 589's but due to the weight of that tire and my 400cc(389) power plant I was told by the pro's that I would not be happy with it. They sold me on a lighter tire 27" ITP Mudlite's which is a much lighter tire. However I will still be getting a power lose but not as much. You need to make the decision of how you are going to ride. I just use mine around my farm and at the deer lease. If you are a young person and will be hard on it then I would recommend going with a 26" tire with a aggresive tread. PS) You are going to need lift and spacers first in my opinion... |

I had a set of 26" mudlites on an 01 rancher FE on ITP c series rims. They fit great and the mild power loss was well worth it. I cant believe I waited two years to put new tires on the beast. Anything bigger than 26 and you will have clearance issues w/o a lift kit. I'm not a fan of the lift kits anyway, too much undue wear on drivetrain components. The offset itp c series wheels helped a lot with the fitment too. Nice wide stance after the install.
