Wiring a Warn A2000 winch

It is different than a 2500 series. It uses the 4 wire solenoid instead of the 6 wire 'contactor'.

I have the dial switch, with a 1 and 2 wire post, and a + and - terminal. 4 in total.

The solenoid has a power and ground 8 gauge wire. There is an 18ga red wire and a green wire too. 4 in total.

and the winch has a 1 & 2 terminal.

any ideas on how to wire this?

You don't really need the solenoid, it's just there if you want to disable the winch from operating without the ignition on. Plus and minus on the dial switch go to the battery (should have a fuse in the positive line near the battery end). Posts 1 and 2 go to the 2 posts on the winch, doesn't really matter which one goes to which, depends which way you want to turn the dial to make the winch go in or out. If you want to use the solenoid, you can put it in-line on either the pos. or minus lines from the battery to the dial switch (larger solenoid posts)with the coil (small solenoid posts) of the solenoid wired to ground and an ignition source. This way the winch will only run with the ignition on/bike running.

What amperage does the fuse need to be? 15 or 20 amp?
