1000+ mile rider report on 05 Grizz
I can't agree more with your evaluation. My wife claimed my 04, so I have a brand new 05 sitting under a cover waiting for me to get home. We have about 1000 miles on the 04 and I can't wait to compare the two.
One thing I noticed with the 04 is the top speed when it was new was 69 mph on the guage. After about 500 miles, the top speed is about 65. Someone said it is because of the belt wear. Has anyone else had this happen.

I would like to let everyone know that because of all the great info on this forum that I just picked up my new 05 grizz yesterday and feel pretty good about my choice! Wanted that KQ pretty bad but luckly I got all the info about the problems and plus the dealer had taking them off the showroom floor intil they fix a throttle problem! Ditrydude, that was an exellent review and I will say that after reading that yesterday I knew that I would be happy with the Grizz! Anyway Just want to say Thanks!

Most Grizzlys come from the showroom with the shocks set in the second from the softest position. Readjust yours to the middle setting. ( I used a pipe wrench) This will greatly improve the handling. I got this tip off of here last year when I got my 04' Grizzly. Man .....does it handle better! I have a few friends that have Grizzlys. After they rode mine, the first thing they did, when they got home, was change the setting on theirs. Try it. If you don't like it move it back. You have to remove the rear wheels to adjust the back, though.

my grizz is Red and I just put 26 inch mudlights on ! Love this tire, handles better than the 589's on my Kodiak. So far I only have 18 miles on it so I am still taking it kinda easy. Headed on a big ride this weekend probably put on 200 miles. After that I can probably see what this thing really has in the power department! I have lots of mods that I want to do so I will keep updating!

This message is for Starky.
I also have the problem with a slower top end on my Grizzly. When it was new, it would go about 67 mph - now it will only go 62-63 mph. I would like to replace the belt, but they are expensive. It's also been suggested that the valves may need to be adjusted. If you find anything out, let me know and I will do the same. If anyone else has any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

Grizzly Adams,
In December i took mine in for service and the valves were just slightly tight. After they adjusted them I didn't notice any differance in top speed. It's about 65 - 67 depending on wind direction. I won't get a chance to ride the 05 griz until August but I don't know if it will be an honest comparison because it has 26" Dirt Devils on it. I put the same tires on the 04, so at least I will be able to compare the two as they sit now.
I also ordered the ADB tracks for it. I can't wait to get home and try those out.
