Default need SPORTSMAN help..

my 2001 Sportsman 400 w/600 miles just began to want to stall yesterday while at idle...and then it finally stalled and then I started it again then it stalled and wouldnt start at all!
I have full fuel, gas is on! Plug is dry! checked plug has great spark!
checked the ETC all good. took the carb off and cleaned it all put it back on still nothing!
I put some gas down the spark plug hole it fired as soon as it turned over! but then stopped after
that gas got burnt. The only thing left that I can think of is the fuel pump????????????????
no pinched lines, most plastics off it,ive gone through it so much!

PLEASE anyone ever run into this with a sportsman? or should I say anyones fuel pump ever gone? and if so how did you know besides it not running......im out of ideas

thanks in advance

If you cleaned the carb did you replace the filter?

You may want to post in the Polaris forum.

thats why I stated in my first post all the things I tryed, and said "the gas is on"
but It was the pump! I took it apart looked pretty clean, but rinsed it out with gas blew it all out and put it back on,primed the machine and now it runs...go figure! MuST have been some crap in the pump or somethin,I think I'll still get one even though their like 65 bucks, just to be safe
thanks guys for the replys

Look at the cable that runs from the throttle lever down your handle bar. Mine was doing the same thing, then I remebered what my dealer told me about adjusting the throttle cable. It is a saftey device that keeps the throttle from sticking wide open. If its not adjusted right, it will sputter and stall at idle. Good luck.
