489's

Most people think of the deep tread tires as being the best. Depending on where a person rides. Most people do not need a really deep tread and the extra weight only slows them down on the trail.

In the last few years, I have seen the local trails change for the bad. Everything is torn all to heck because of the deep tread tires.

I keep a set of 26" DD's on hand. But mostly, I run my worn out stock tires. Mostly out of respect for the landowners. I still go all the same places without a problem.

Well, I just got my Mudlite XTRs and have a little feedback. They haul through the mud like nothing I could imagine. I dont have a lot of brands to compare them to as these are the 1st replacements ive had. But im impressed. On the dry trail. They seem to handle a lot better in the corners than the OEMs. A little grabby in the ruts. And a little rougher riding, but they are a radial. I put over 150 miles on these in the last 8 days and they seem to do real well for wear. Lots of gravel roads between trail.......I got them from an outfit called ATV Outdoorsman. Found them on EBAY. Good price too......$620.00 for 26s on Type 5 ITP wheels and the hardware delivered.....So far, so good.

Anybody tried the Interco SwampLites?

Good price and looks like an agressive lug. I've need to buy a set of bigger lug tires and I was leaning toward the mudlites, but I'm concerned about wearing out too fast.

Most of my ride is hard trail, but when I need mud traction, my stock KQ tires are almost worthless.

Anyone have the best combo, without giving up ride and handling?????
