Default Started with NO Oil!!

Hey everyone, first time on the forum!! Well heres what happened. The wife and I where changing the oil in the ATV's and some how the plug got left out of the 2005 660 Grizzy and she started the motor, well it ram for about ten seconds before i could get it shut off, didnt do anything weird, no weird sounds. I guess what i'm asking is ten seconds running with no oil going to mess anything up??
Thanks!

I'd say your probably safe. It should have had enough oil residue on the parts to protect it for 10sec. Nobody revved it up during that time did they? Even with the oil in it, after an oil change it shouldn't be revved at all for at least 20sec.

Default NO Oil!!

I wouldn't recommend what V2 does, but you accidentally running it without oil for about 10 sec will not hurt it. Because more than likely in the pump and Oil cooler if you have one and any residue left will have protected it just fine. If you wanna be safe I would add the oil run it for maybe 30 mins or an hr and then change it again to ensure there is no metal shavings. Just remember when it was new? When you change the oil for the first time you get metal shavings out of it and they recommend 20 hrs on it before changing it thats a long time with them in there so 10 sec can hurt anything.
