Well the CanAm might not be the best choice. Under $7000 leaves you with a 400cc. You can almost buy a Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI or Sportsman XP 550 at $7499 and can get a Sportsman 500HO but it's not an EFI. Suzuki only has the 400 for under $7000. The only Kawasaki under 7K is the Prairie 360. The only Arctic Cat that's under 7K is the 366. Not sure about Hondas. I love their reliability but not having full 4wd keeps me from recommending them. And you can get a Yamaha Grizzly 450 under your limit. If it were me and these were the choices I'd go with the Polaris 500 HO. Maybe you can find a better deal.

I assume you are in USA? Cannot get an Outty 400 for less than $8,800 up here.

my grizzly 450 was chosen because it's a good all around machine. i've ridden several before buying it. it packs more power for the punch. dollar for dollar, power per CC, it was worth it for me. it's a fairly decent sized machine, 4wd works awesome, clearance is great. i didn't need a 700cc when for what i do, the 450cc does well. it exceeded my expectations. we don't use it for just cruising and hunting. i use it for some "on the side" lumberjacking. it'll drag tremendous loads. it has never failed me in whatever i've demanded of it. it's a very versatile machine. i'm hearing great things about the EPS on the new ones. i'm sure DODGE57HEMI will chime right back in on this one. when i buy another 4wd, it'll be a grizzly 450cc.

from all the old reviews the outlander is an overall better quad, and for the $7500 they want for an eps model id get a sportsman 550.. i dont need eps anyway. the sportsman 450 and 500 are real bargains and the ride is still hard to beat to this day... tough desicion

You just normal trail riding or are you gonna put monster truck tires on it and bury it in the mud up to your neck?

I would go with a honda or yamaha for sure... unless you like workin on your wheelers alot.. or maybe you don't put alot of miles on them I dunno..

The grizzlys got nice features and good power and thier pretty darn reliable.

The Ranchers not quite as powerful feeling but super reliable rediculous resale value.. no belts if you care.. they just feel good under you "solid"

too bad you don't spring for a used quad there is so many around me with like no miles on them for a steal people are hard up for cash bad.. I saw a 2008 rincon for sale camo 756 miles mint shape 3999.00 Ohh man and a Rubicon 2005 512 miles winch plow you name it 4000 OBO..
