Big Bear shifting rough and kicking out of gear
Hi all, I have a 1999 Yammy Big Bear. It is VERY hard to shift, so much so that sometimes I even reach down and shift with my hand cause my foot hurts so bad. Also lately it's been popping out of gear (1st and reverse only) into neutral. I've adjusted the shift adjuster on the side exactly as the manual states, with no real change. Is this normal?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Big Bear shifting rough and kicking out of gear
I have an 03 and the same crap happens to me. I thought maybe since mine was new it just needed to break in (NOT). I have just over 400 miles on mine and it still is difficult to shift sometimes. Since this is my first quad I do not know how the auto works or rides like, maybe a good thing for me. I suppose us manual trans guys will just deal with it. Look at the bright side.
1. Greater Reliabilty
2. Less Stuff to Break
3. We can stay in low gear with higher RPM for power

I have a 93 big bear that would miss shift, go it to neutraul between gear ,I though the trans was shot. I took the RH side cover off and found a screw loose on a piece that meshes with the shifter arm. Tightened it up and it been working great since
