Default Trailer question

I am about to buy a new trailer to haul 4 quads, I have a single axle 10x8 tilt trailer now ( have loaded 3 quads on it bad idea tows horrible) I am looking at two different trailers both are about the same money. One is a 8x14 three dual axle place snow machine trailer drive on drive off type, the other is a 7x16 car hauler. My question is it really a pain to load them from the side and have any of you had wind damage from hauling them this way. The car hauler seems more versital and is a heaver duty trailer. The car hauler does not have side rails so it seems easy enough to load them with the ramps. The dealer who sells the drive on drive off says that I will damage the plastic on my quads from the wind when I drive if I use a car hauler and it is better to haul them facing forward. Before I spend 1700.00 I would like some feed back from people who haul several quads at once. Thanks

My trailer is a Diablo 8 x 10 that loads from the side. I have hauled the bikes quite a bit and have never seen any damage from loading them sideways. I guess the guy trying to sell the snowmobile trailer is just trying to push you into buying his equipment. Even a Porche can be a pile of junk if you sell a different make.

i agree. my first trailer was a side hauler and i loved it. as far as damage to the plastic. i havent damaged the front of the quad and dont imagine that i would the side either. if your really worried about stuff kicking up, put a barrier up.

Default Trailer question

I have a 3-place 7 x 14 trailer. I have a box mounted on the front that is the width of the trailer for storage, spare parts, etc. I side load all the time and have had no problems with three bikes going 70+ mph for two straight hours. The beauty of side loaders is that they have a tendancy to be narrower and can be towed without as much attention being required, like when the wife is driving and you approach a toll booth!!!!

After looking at the used trailer I decided to buy a new 16 ft car hauler. Seems to me that it works just as good for the quads and can be used for a lot of stuff the other one can't. Bigger tires lower deck brand new much heaver duty, Thanks again for the imput your feed back helped me be comfortable with this and side loading.
