Slade's Park in Va to open
I called the owners of Slade's Park in VA yesterday to see if and when they were going to reopen (it's been closed for several years). They are planning to open in April, around Easter. They are starting a website www.sladespark.com. It is not up yet but will be. Their number is 757-357-9269.

Can someone do me a favor? What are all the ATV parks in and around Richmond? I'm from DC but at this point I'm having to drive 2hrs+ anyway, I thought I'd look that direction.
Thanks, Z |

Ubetrun, I'm not sure about the drag racing. I have heard that the sand drags were the only activities still going on during the last several years. If you mean whether general patrons will be able to do it, I'm not sure. I'd call them at the number I posted and ask. They're really nice but you may have to call several times because they're in and out. The atv parks around Richmond will include Slade's when they reopen, The Cove (near Winchester), and excellent one not far in North Carolina is http://www.ncmotorsportspark.com/. It has several MX tracks and trails that are fairly easy or difficult (swamp) in sections to test the bigest, baddest atv. It is probably less than 2 hrs from Richmond! I assume you knnow about the George Washington National Forest trails already. I was a big Slade's fan and am excited to finally get offical word that they're reopening and not just rumors.

GWNF has got some awesome scenery and trails, but tend to be rocky. For the ultimate atving vacation check out the Hatfield/McCoy Trail System in WV www.trailsheaven.com.

Yeah, I saw Hatfields too, that's quite the drive but may be worth it. I also have a 5y/o thats just starting so trails might be the way to go for a while. Or at least an ATV park with a kids track. Thanks again.
