I am sure there are some WV trail riders on here. If planning a trip to ride the trail system down there where would you recommend to stay at? Looking for cabin rental with quad access to the trails. Preferably direct trail access. There are a ton of places to stay but of course each of of them says they are the best place to stay.

We just spent a week in West Virginia and we stayed at the Browning Fork Trailhouse. Marty, Lisa, and Daniel were great. They answered every question we had and we were able to ride the Browning Fork system directly from their place. We also drove over to Pinnacle Creek (1 hour) and rode a day there. My daughter was able to conquer all of the "black trails" at Pinnacle, however, the "black trails " at Browning fork were a different animal. As far as the Trailhouse was concerned we had plenty of beds and linens. I am sure you have looked at www.trailsheaven.com. We gathered a lot of info on that site and you can access all of the lodging websites from there also. We're going to go back in a couple of years and we plan on staying at the BF Trailhouse again. It's 1200 miles from our house, so we'll have to spread our trips out.

In Sept 07 we stayed at the Twin Hollow Campgrounds, http://www.twinhollowcampground.com . The campground has direct access to the Browning Fork Trail System. Its about 100yds from the connector into Gilbert. They have cabins and campsites w or w/o electric. Cabins have their on bathrooms, a full kitchen w/ about everything you can think of. They all have fire rings and charcoal grills. It over looks a spectacular view. Wayne and Donna are the owners and they have made a very spectacular place that makes you feel like you are at home. When you ask them for some firewood they bring it but they do better than that. They stack the woodin the fire ring and place a liquid fire starter on top and all you have to do is light it and its ready to enjoy a nice night looking at the stars and maybe drinking a few beers. The trail system there is excellent the trails offer something for everyone from the beginner to the expert rider. Downtown Gilbert is great they have everything you need for your ride. From gas stations to car washes to grocery store. They have serveral different places to eat at. If you want a good steak or some ribs go to the Crooked T, it is great. If you need to get a replacement part or forgot some equipment then go to IROC, Indian Ridge Off-Road Customs, right across from the Crooked T. I will say this the trail riding is top-notch, the ride is awesome from Gilbert into Man and the views from trail 93 are the best in the world. We are coming back in October the 3rd week this year and will have 3 1/2 days of riding BF and Buffalo Mt., staying at Twin Hollow as always.
