Kennedy Meadows (Monache Trail) w/Pics
The wife and I took the quads up to the Troy overflow for camping and a short ride on the Monache Trail to the South Fork Kern this weekend. We had a great time and wanted to share it with you guys.
Already to leave and all is good.
Ok so we lost one of the trailer's wheels 45 minutes into the drive up (luckly no harm done)
The trail was dusty but fun, my wife likes to putt along and if she is happy so am I.
Man it is nice to be riding in the woods among the Redwoods and Sequoia's, most of the trail was very fast with only a few semi-technical rocky sections.
Monache Meadow.......looks pretty dry, although the ranger said they had alot of rain on Tuesday & Wednesday.
Time for a photo op and break to take in the views...
Talk about America the Beautiful.
Hmm....Monache Creek, not much water here...
Aww, here we go, my wife crosses the shallow area of the South Fork Kern...
My turn, yeah it was only 85 degrees out (nice) but I was shivering the rest of the ride after this.....we didn't get any shots through the deeper stuff but the water was higher than my tires and filled my boots....
Nice shot of the South Fork Kern, alot less water than I remember in 88' but still you can't beat a cool water crossing.
Did I mention it was dusty?
We had a great time, it was a short 25 mile adventure but I wouldn't trade it for anything (Maybe a Fuel Injected Dual Sport, if that day comes, you just might see me back on two wheels again) WTF?
