2 up atv riding in New Hampshire
Hi I am going to take my 850 polaris sportsman touring to New Hampshire this summer. I was wondering about my 6 yr old son as a passenger do his feet need to be on the foot rests or can I use sturrup system that comes off the back rack thank you

I don't know of any particular laws that state his feet have to be on the footwells to be a passenger. They would enforce helmet and eye protection though. Never encountered anything to suggest the footwell issue.

Since it is a touring model, the only thing I would think they would enforce is helmet and eye protection as Moose said. As long as he rides behind you instead of in front of you like any normal passenger, you should be fine.

Perhaps you can make some boosters out of wood or plastic? Or something like stirrups.

Polaris makes 3" and 7" passenger foot risers for some models. You need to check for the year your ATV was made.
