Who's got the results of the Hurley WI rally?

I was up there only Friday & Saturday. I had to leave early before all the festivity (Mud pit & Radar run) at the Alaskian House took place. I still had a great time. It rained on and off all weekend the trails were nice and wet. You couldn't tell the color of any wheeler out there. They were all coated in red mud. As for the local entertainment I had a blast on Sliver Street. Lot of places to go and things to see I'll being going next year. This time I'll make certain I'm off for the whole weekend and sign up for my vactation early.

The trails were awesome! Thats about the only good thing I have to say. The Wisconsin DNR imported a total of eight other Conservation Officers as well as the recreation enforcement officer from Hurley to hand out tickets. They even went as far as to set up alcohol check points and give out breathalizers to the poor people who were "enjoying" themselves to much. They closed off trails to funnel atvs through certain trails so they wouldnt have to spread themselves to thin. It really took the enjoyment out of the whole weekend wondering if you were going to see a conservation officer and if you did, what type of ticket were you going to get.None of our group of even will be going back next year and I talked to at least fifteen others who will not be back. The Mud Runs were mediocre at best. No radar runs due to liability.
The real muddin took place on trail eight and at Side Kicks in Iron River!!! Good time. I will go back to the area to ride but not during memorial day weekend. If you go next year, you will notice a dramatic decrease in machines. It is to bad because this will certainly hurt all the business owners in the area who count on our riding in this area!

I too found out that 5 more folks from Escanaba Mi were ticketed $125.00 each ONLYfor not having a Wisconsin registered sticker. The Wisconsin clearly states on page 12 about who needs to have their machine registered. Michigan residents already have a titled/ registered machine. It's against the law to have two titles for one machine. The same as it goes for a boat, vehicle, RV and snowmobile. Come on DNR of Wisconsin. It clearly states that if your ATV is registered in another state that you do NOT have to register in Wisconsin. I would be first in line to buy a trail or ORV sticker to ride on your trails. I plead to all Michigan ATVers not to ride in Wisconsin ever!!!!!! I will be sending a letter to the politicans of these two states stating this. As a last note to the sponsers of the Hurley Rally, Enjoy next years event with your local residents and friends. To everyone else from out of state of Wisconsin don't waste your time and money to go!!

Here is the link to the follow-up for law enforcement activity for the rally weekend.
Number of citations written by the DNR were not available?
Shades of Price County/Chequamegon Forest?
I hope that this is not the future of ATVing in the State of Wisconsin.
