Holly Beach is good and bad. The good is that it is great for drag racing, running your bike up to top speed and just doing donuts. Doesnt have hills. It does have some jumps. Does have some trails to ride. I went about a month ago for the first time to ride my Ds. About 30 bikes were there on that Saturday. I dont sugguest riding there. Reason. After riding all day. I took my bike to the car wash and gave it a good spraying. Took it home and washed by hand and did a real good job of scrubing. Oiled everything. Went the next day and my sprocket had started to rust and the chain was real rusted. The salty air did a number on it. Never rode in the water, but it still rusted some of my bike. If you go bring dirt tires and sand tires. In the morning the sand is real packed and that afternoon once everyone had turned up the sand, the sand became loose, advantage sand paddles.

It is just south of Lake charles on the coast of the Gulf. It is right on the Texas border.

I used to ride Holly beach a lot back east towards Cameron and west towards the rocks and Johnsons Bayou and the lighthouse. Course I was riding a full size four wheel broncho. I wouldn't ride my four wheelers on that beach. The salt spray will turn them into piles of rust. My broncho was fully coated underneath and I always washed it well when we were finished riding. You also want to watch it if a fish kill has occurred in the past few weeks. I've seen a lot of stranded vehicles with four flat tires due to some really big and sharp fins on dead fish puncturing them. I don't think even the slime we use in our four wheeler tires would seal all the leaks. The problem is the dead fish bury up in the sand. When you ride over them, the long fins on the back of the fish punture the tires.

It was really more than I expected when I went, some dude flagged off three 5 bikw widthths and marked off 1/8th mile. It was so smooth and long he could have marked off a 1/4 mile. The races were pretty consistent because you had no whoops to worry about. This one dude with an 02 and I had an 01 would get me buy the same length every time as well as comparing to other bikes.
