Yeah, but your close to a lot of sand, and I would rather ride sand than snow anyday.

One of the guys in the group had a Z400 that he had geared down a little and had 25 inch tall tires on the rear.
He went every where the 4x4's went.....full throttle at all times and never stopped.....but he went.

Well, I'm back from Lackland AirForce base where my son Angus graduated with honor status. There were over 950 at the start and of those 777 graduated. 73 got honor status and Angus was in the top ten. Do I sound proud???
I'll tell you what, I am really glad I went. There was well over 1000 parents at the ceremonies even though it was extremely cold and windy. I got a renewed sense and understanding of the youth of this country. I had thought that we had a generation of disrespectful apathetic brats who were ashamed to be citizens of this great country. This trip made me proud of each and every one of those young people. I talked to a lot of parents who could not believe the positive impact six weeks of training had made on their sons and daughters.
I thought this was funny, so I will share it here. After week five the training instructer had flight 181 and 182 of training squadron 326 sit down in the outdoor bleachers and he asked them this question. "What is the purpose of the United States AirForce?". My son raised his hand, and when the T.I. called on him he stood up and said, "Sir, the purpose of the United States AirForce is to kill people and break their stuff sir." The T.I. stopped pacing in front of the stands and looked closely at Angus. He asked Angus what his name was. Angus answered, and the T.I. then asked how it was that Angus had been in his training squadron for over five weeks and the T.I. did not know his name. Angus said, "Sir, I have flown under the radar by not pissing you off sir." The T.I. then commented how those who had been recycled could learn from this ingenious approach to basic training, and then he exclaimed "Out*&$#ingstanding answer to my question airman Coy". He said that he usually had to wade through a bunch of dim witted nonsense about world peace and such before having to tell the recruits this answer. The T.I. said it's up to the politicians to handle that, and "our job is to kill people and break their stuff and we are damned good at it!".
Anyway,,,I will be at the place on Mica where we went last time this Saturday morning at 9:00 if anyone wants to come. I will be riding with Nancy my fellow respiratory therapist. She has a Polaris 500 scrambler. I'll take my FRC radio and put it on channel 7/21 if anyone wants to meet us for a ride up there. It was great two weeks ago. I wish Nancy and I had caught up to IdahoSpud then. Hope I see you there. Also, My wife Billi Jo will be going riding with me next Friday so if any of you can hook up then let me know. Nancy will probably come along then too.

Hmm...
My Dad and I were planning on riding Sat.
Where are you guys going to be?
My Dad and I still don't know our way around when it comes to the trails, all we've been on so far is the backside of Canfeild (around Fernan and up the mountain)
I'd be cool to meet some people who like to ride who live here. And I know for a fact my Dad's going to want to ride your Bomb ^_^

We will be unloading at the Idaho side of Mica at 0900 Saturday. If you get off the freeway on Pines, head South. Pines turns into a highway that goes south past freeman. If you want, we could meet you at the little store/gas station in Freeman. Sounds like a long way, but from I-90 to Freeman is probably only about ten minutes or so. Let me know. Jay 922-3070.
Anyone else in for a ride?

Lets Ride!

That would be cool. I'm not totally sure what it's called where we go, but all I know is we go around Fernan, then up the mountain, where we come out at a parking lot. Sometimes we get off and ride the trails there, or sometimes we drive another 7 miles up the roud where there is a big dirt lot where we usually park our truck and from there is like 5 trails. Fun.
