Ragged and ya' other peeps-----is the family ride still on for the 8th of July? Let me know, I have to start to put in for the day off now. If so, I think that me and my daughter would like to show up. Where it gonna be at?

I have a suggestion to make that is in view of this last ride. If you want to encuorage guys to join us on a ride, we need (IMO) that we remove ALL of the brand competition. I feel like it is counter productive to turn these rides into
a 'slug-fest' that takes note of every mistake or percieved flaw of another guys machine. On this forum (and I can tell guys that have been here awhile are getiing burned out on this stuff) I can sling the brand smack as good as any of therm. however...we are really here for one thing: let's ride! As for myself, I am not going on a ride with y'all just to "prove" anything. I just want to get out!

 

xploridaho: I like GWP "Ebrake" better.. Hehe.. Poor GWP he will never live this down... As far as the 8th goes we will see if it flys. The nature of my job may prevent it. But I will see if i can pull some strings. Rob is in the same boat as me.

Ol GWP had a rough day...Felt sorry for the poor guy.. Sorry man cant help it. BUT.. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] We went up a trail, came to a spot where there was a tree fell across the road. Xploreidaho being the brute he is started gnawing thru the tree just like a beaver. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Ol GWP got off his machine and set the brake. I was behind his machine. I got off and was talking to Ragged dad, looked forward to see the progress Xploridaho was making on the tree, by this time he gnawed halfway thru it. Those Idaho guys are brutes! I look forward to see GPW's ride rolling back towards my machine. I ran forward and lept towards it, snagged the brake and stopped the machine a few feet before it hit mine.. So thats where 'ebrake' comes from..

Ragged: Glad to finally meet you.. Yeah I plan to put a horn on it.. Grover 1609's diesel horns if I can fit em on there.. You liked that huh?? Hehe.. 147 decibels at 10 ft.. Cranked my air horns off on my Dodge.. I think all the guys in Ragged truck were cleaning their shorts out.. Hehe

Seriousally. On the ride there was 5 Polaris and 1 Yamaha, no one bashed anyones machine on that ride. Except for the CanHam ones [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] Just kidding man.. We like to give you a bad time..

Yeah the fun is getting a little old i do admit. And yes. Lets ride.. It is fun getting out.. The whole thing is not to take it to heart.. We may tease and bash on the boards but when you get out there it like everyone is the best of buddies. I have ridden with Mr JayDeeCoy, aakarw & hubby, Rockman, Fat Larry(from another board) Ragged, GWP and Xploridaho, rode with Idaho 2 times now and Jay many times, It seems like you knows people for a long time even when you ride just once. It all fades away when you ride man..


Have you ever gone riding with anyone on here Pastor? I mean besides Ragged? He said you ride alot by yourself. It is nice to get out in the open with no one around. Beautiful scenery and nature, it is great.

Next time we have a ride Pastor I hope to ride with you and to meet you.

Hey Kodiak660: In your profile you have a pic on there captioned "At489 run backwards" it looks like the tread is running in reverse.. Forgive the question but why? Does it give more traction? Whats the reasoning on switching them around?

 

Glad you didn't get hurt GWP. I recently decided no more donuts for me. I can't count the number of times I have almost rolled a quad doing donuts. And of course, you have to push it to the point where you are about to roll it to get that feeling of satisfaction. I gave up on those and climbing hills improperly. I was just getting sloppy on some steep inclines and going up them at a angle and well, thats a good way to roll your machine. Almost had it happen on me about a month ago. You hear these stories of people getting killed on quads, which of course the media has a feeding frenzy on and the whole thing goes nuts. There is some truth to it. It's just knowing when to say when. But, this is a direct contradiciton to the whole push it farther addiction. I just decided to start playing it safer. Doesn't mean I don't do a good climb. I just do it straight on now rather than get sloppy and regret it later.

Anyone who takes the time to check out how many machines I've had and notices that I havent had 2 of any brand can tell how brand loyal I am. I personally don't believe there are any bad quads, just bad mouthing. If ya ride it at all theres a chance for a break down. I will be ther first to say in the snow, the little hondas go about as good as anything. If someone takes offense to anything I say about any particular brand, sorry. But I do state opinions from time to time. As far as riding, love to ride no matter what the other guy is on, anyone who cares to join me let me know. Its all about being there.

Flit....sounds great!! but the trails up there are just that ...trails...not loggin roads...if your kid is an experianced rides she'll do ok I'm sure...but there is some changeling stuff for kids up there...

OK first off, A handful of us are going to meet at 9am on Sunday at the 4th of July Parking lot. We're doing some trail maintenance, the buck brush (Alder?) is really grow up bad, it's starting to reclaim the trail. So if you can make it great! We could use all the help we can get. I know its Fathers Day, so no sweat if you can't. Won't really need chainsaws, but a set of loppers are a must.

GWP- dump your quad doing doughnuts eh? Man, I've never once dump my quad doing that. Geeze... I think it's more like twice or three times. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] The only way you can "save face" in that situation is in a proper dismount. Land on your feet or a simple tuck n roll and you will amaze your friends. lol. And to really impress, get your quad back on its wheels with out assistance.

So there I was surounded by 5, yes 5 Poo riders. I didn't like the odds. After all, I was only riding a Grizzly. I had to think fast. Hey, lets stick it to those Can Ham guys with a picture I said. All cheered, I had gained there trust. That was a close one. Now if only I had destroyed the #@!&^* camera, we all would be at piece here. If only I had the forsight to know what it would mean to the Can Ham guys to defend there pride! There must be a way to make it up to them. I've got it. A ride, a ride of colossal propotions. Lets get all those who have been bashing each other together and lay this"My machine is better than your brand" to rest. The 8th sounds like a good day for it. But first, everyone must take an oath.
