08 Rhino fuel filter replacement contest

I posted this also in the yamaha general discussion. But decided to post here also.

I have an 08 Rhino 700 that is just about 1yr. old now. It started running bad about two weeks ago. Long story short I found dirt in the gas tank. I pulled the fuel pump out and cleaned the tank and got over a cup of dirt/mud out of it. I think someone messed with it. The fuel filter was totally plugged and I do not think I can clean it. Now the bad part Yamaha does not sell the filter separtly. You must buy the whole fuel pump assembly($279.00). I cannot believe that this filter is solely made for the yamaha. I would think that it is made also for the automotive industry. Does anyone know if this is true? I am going to Napa and see if they by chance they can match it up. I will post if I find a replacement.

If anyone can find me an exact replacement filter before I do. You will receive two free passes for Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, OH. Let the game begin!

POWERLINE PARK is the website if anyone is interested.

Replacement Fuel Filter for Electric Fuel Pump - Black Rhino Performance

Not familiar with the routing of the fuel lines, but is it possible to leave that filter off and just get an inline filter?

scootergptx 08-27-2009 08:53 AM

Damn!!! It's a tie!

We'll take your truck, RL.

Raptorlegs 08-27-2009 08:57 AM

You pay the diesel and we're gone! :D

Sorry Raptorlegs, but that filter will not work. Just so you know the filter for a fuel injected Rhino is attached to the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Keep trying and good luck.

Now we get to see the fine print on the rules.  :p

I'd still do the inline filter, just for backup. If it really was that bad, I'd bet not all of it was stopped at the filter.

Yep, I'd just hollow out the stocker and put a $4 inline filter on it from walmart if you can't buy it separate.

Still not a go. But I agree about a second filter may not be a bad idea. But I am still looking for the exact replacement part.
