I think its a way yamaha figured to make some cash out of an old motor. Jazz up a chassis with some borrowed plastic ideas, slap the old Big Bear motor in it, and up the suspension to par.

Nothing great with all they have out already, but if they would have given it the Grizzly's Independant rear end, it would have been a damn good idea.

I think the bruin is lame. Who cares about a small atv with old technology. Yamaha should have given the Kodiak 450 the grizzley rearend and a true 500 cc engine. I would have to sell the one that I bought a month ago for something like that.

Its always nice to see new addition to the line up. However I'm kind of disappointed in the bruin. All they did was put a griz front on a Kodiak and put the bb engine. If they would have put the rear of the griz then it would have been ok.

I think it will sell just because its new and cheap. It p!sses me off that they dont update the wolverine or simply get rid of. Not do dis the big bear but how many do you see, There isnt many out there., yet they get 2/4 wheel drive selector and a bigger motor. Then they update the Kodiak with a bigger motor and some new features then they make the bruin. I mean WTF. Yamaha claims the wolverine is the best selling sport 4x4 on the planet. Why dont they keep it that way? Its needs so much more to compete with anything anymore. Like 2/4 wheel drive selector a bigger motor, better air box design. They already have the motor ,selector and new air box design how hard would it be to change that. I dont even want to look at the bruin just because its a wannabe wolverine. IMO

to slowride1: true very true, it makes me sick yamaha hasnt updated the wolv, its a great machine and has enough power for me, but it needs to be updated to comptete with the other 4x4s

You know what is sad-- they have the Grizzly and the Raptor, all the pieces they need to do this, and yet they haven't done it. Why not take the best of both designs to make a Wolverin 660? Use top-end from the Grizzly, and combine the bottem ends of the Raptor and Grizz (geared tranny and 4x4), and there is your powerplant. It shouldn't be hard to make this thing weigh about the same as a KFX700.

Yamaha just doesn't see the market demand, but I think it's there.
