dealers to avoid and why. dealers that are good.

I'de like to start this post so maybe we can take our patronage to a good dealer and not to a deadbeat dealer. I purchased, along with 2 friends, a 400ex when they first came out. We went to the dealer, talked to a salesman, all 3 of us bought a 400 there. 1 friend took a 400 home that day, the other a week later. I put my down payment of $500 that day and traded my kx250. When I got the call, a month later, I went to pick it up. The salesman I dealt with happened to be "sick" that day. Another salesman, with an attitude, told me that they were going to give me 500 less for my kx and if I dont like it I would go home $500 poorer and without a 4-wheeler or I could take $500 less for the bike and haul the 400 home. I let him know what I felt about it and wanted to see the agreement papers that were drawn up. They happened to loose them(imagine that). I was steaming mad and have since thought of several things i should have done. The salesman(mr. attitude) said, " I ride a 400 and maybe we will run into each other on the trail sometime.", I replied " I hope we do, I hope we do.". The dealership was owen honda located in charleston, Illinois. My swingarm broke soon afterward and the dealer in olney, Il replaced it no problem. I didnt even buy it there. Hope this will detour people from that dealership even though that was back in 98. I still wish I could do that day over again.
