14, a good friend of mine is running a K&T 350 motor in his stock 87 J-arm frame. It weighs in at just over 300lbs, is on alky, and runs in the 4.3-4.4 range. The reason you dont see many fast 400ex's is just because they are dogs to start with in comparison. A good bike, but not a good pick to heavily mod.I'm suprised that someone is not building an aftermarket head for the Honda. The big question is......... do you want strictly a dragger,or will you dune it some as well and if so how much?

Bubba- I rode a 40 over 350 banshee yesterday (badshee98) made me wonder why i have 2 raptors. I was going to trade a rappy for it but got cold feet.

I would go with the 400 myself, just to make it challenging, or you could do a yfz 450.

I thought about dropping my motor in to my brothers 400ex, just to see what the DS motor could do in a light wieght atmosphere, ANd then droping a BUSA engine in my DS, but then I woke up!
