Banshee's last year

I would bet the 2006 model will be the last if they do quit making them. They start selling the next years model way before the year actually starts, so they could sell a bunch of 2006's before the new regulations go into affect. They might even sell them up to the last minute to profit from the rush of buyers at the last minute getting a new 2 stroke because they are afraid it will be their last chance.

Based on rumors I’ve heard and the silence from Yamaha about the intended fate of the Banshee I would give 2-1 odds in favor of a redesigned Banshee coming out in 2006 maybe even fuel injected. Yamaha does not seem to be giving up on 2 strokes with their outboards in 2006 so I suspect they are not with quads either and are just playing marketing games right now.

Couldnt they call it a competition only bike, spruce it up a bit, and keep selling it? or maybe put an RZ engine in it? it had catalytic convertors, ~60hp, and a powervalve.

Banshee's last year

I have been thinking this for the last two years or so. Each year waiting to see if the Banshee would be in production waiting to get one of the last ones. But temptation gave in and I bought an 04 yesterday. However like most other people here think I would say with the new regulations starting you can say goodbye to the Banshee as we know it (2-stroke)

Just like I remember when Polaris first went big into the ATV market basically everything they had was 2-stroke now it's vice versa with them. Same with Waverunners they are all going to 4-stroke

no more banshe??can it be??How far off is the current banshee from the new regulation standars,it has to be better than most dirt bikes.....IT would seem all they would have to do is classify it as a competition vehichle to keep it around and i would hope that would persuade them to update it,same with the blaster!
