Might be the relay sticking. Disconnect the cable that runs from it to the starter an hit the button and listen to see if it releases right away.

Check for a exposed wire grounding out on the frame.

I'LL GO CHECK IT RIGHT NOW. I FOUND THE RELAY UNDER THE LEFT REAR FENDER. IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM?

I wonder if it is possible that the relay might be sticking but only under a load? what do you think?

yes that's possible. they can 'weld' themselves together briefly. to see if your starter button is causing the problem then pull the control wire off immediately after it starts. if the starter shuts off immediately then it's getting voltage from the switch. if it doesn't then it's probably the relay.

if its an intermittent problem thats usually when they stick. The current load will semi "weld" a corroded, warn or dirty contact pad together internally and not let it release.

Check the button like 620 says since its easiest and the cheapest to do, it should probably be cleaned anyhow.
