03 raptor turning over, won't start??????

Hey guys. I have been a fan of the forum for a while now. I am in need of some help. I have a stock 2003 raptor with starting trouble. I rode in some muddy conditions a few weeks ago. When I got home I cleaned the bike and rode around for a minute to air dry it then put it away. That was the last time it ran. The motor turns over and over, but won't fire. I have spark at the plug, fuel from the tank to the carb, but not much in the bowls. The plug is in good shape and the choke cable is in good condition. I cleaned all the jets in the carb and made sure there was no foreign material in the bowls. It still won't start. I don't know if the floats could have gotten out of alignment but it ran just a week ago??

Any help would be greatly appreciated??

Thanks all

Does fuel flow from the float bowls when you open the drain screw(both of them)?
Try blowing out the plug cap w/compressed air
Is the choke stuck?
Does it sputter or just crank?
Have you made ANY other mods?
Any fuel additives?
Have you checked your float level?

Thanks, yeh I took the petcock out and checked it and it flows fine. It ran fine a week ago. I'm going to take the cabs apart again tonight and see if I might have missed something and make sure the floats are set right, but right now it's hard to check the float bowls if I can't get fuel to them.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.

RaptorJay,

No fuel doesn't flow from the bowls when I open the screws. The left carb doesn't have any fuel and the right has a little. The choke is in perfect condition and all it does is turn over and over, it never tries to start at all. When I sprayed carb cleaner in the airbox it fires off the fumes from the cleaner. No mods or additives. The fuel was new also. Rechecking the floats is my next move.

Thanks.

I can bet you that its the valves and they need adjusted. This happened to mine ALL of a SUDDEN. Adjust the valves and see what happens.

It isn't your valves...they could probably use the adjustment

If you arn't getting fuel at your carb it won't run...check your float level with a piece of clear tubing(if you need more specifics do a search under float level...there is ton of helpfull info on it...

I'll PM my phone # for any extra help you need...you should be able to ride this weekend
