Can't find the right tire for my Raptor

The whole tire issue has been beat to death on here but I've searched and searched and have not found an answer for my needs. I ride roads, fields and timber. I want to slide easier and hook up about the same in dry conditions but would also like a little more mud traction while not sacrificing a smooth ride. I'm looking at Razor 2's, Kenda Klaws, All Traks, Dirt Devils, Sur Traks, and the list goes on. ( all in 22" ) In my opinion, I don't think razors, holeshots or shredders will work that good in wet timber or snow and mud. Then on the flipside when you start looking at All Traks, Devils, Sur Traks and such I think you sacrifice dry dirt handling.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rambling. Any help, advise or recommendations will be appreciated.

If you find this magic tire that works in Mud Snow and, just as well on roads and, hard pack you let me know cuz I want em!

You are looking for the pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow cuz, it don't exist!

You need to sets of tires to have what you want. 1 set for hard pack and, one for mud and, snow.

go with Klaws and, Realtors.

I thought you actually just lost your right front tire, was gonna tell you to look in the last place you found it. LOL

My riding buddy likes his razr2's for all conditions, I still run the stock fronts but will probably go with the klaw or holeshot front when I am ready. I would just say stay away from the squared profile tires like bandits.

LOL, well I would have been a little nicer about it, but CaptBags nailed it on the head for ya. You might find a tire that does great in one area, and acceptable in another, but you will not find a tire that works great in hard pack conditions, AND soft conditions. Your best bet is to either as bags said get two sets of wheels, or decide which conditions you ride in most, and select your tire accordingly. I personally spend the majority of my time on hard pack, so I choose turf tamers. For the times that I do ride in the mud/ real loose stuff, I have them grooved. They're ok, in the sloppy stuff, but definately not as good as say a Raz-r or Holeshot, but in most of my riding conditions(mostly hard pack, NC clay) they work great. Good luck

I would put on razr, or razr 2 fronts. They will turn you now in any conditions and will stop you NOW, allowing you to play with stoppies if you like. For what you want to do, if you are just trail riding and not racing, get the Dirt Devils if you want a 22" tire. They are 6 ply and when I had them on my scrambler 4x4, I no longer needed the 4x4. Those tires go through anything until the chassis drags, and even then they keep pushing you along.

I want a set of 22" Dirt Devils for extras... then Holeshot XCR's for everyday

dunno if that helps you though

I saw DD"s in action on a Warrior and was impressed!

Because of the tread pattern of the kenda klaws they can be switched for either hard or soft. So you know your going to be riding in the mud, all you have to do is put them the way for soft (you dont have to have the tires remounted just switch sides). If your going to ride hardpack the next day, all you have to do is take the wheel off, turn it 180 degrees and mount it on the opposite side. This can only be so clear in writing, but just think about it and you will get it. If you ride in a bunch of different terrain, I would choose the klaws, because its like having 2 different sets of tires. Just my .02
