STARTED MY NEW JOB ON SUNDAY!
I am officially a member of the Dillon's (Kroger) workforce. The stores manager goes to my church and my family is pretty good friends with his, so I'm in. Not to mention the fact that my brother has worked there for 5 years and is still going strong. I was unable to start working sooner due to Narcotics Anonymous classes for getting an MIP when I ran from the cops in August (oops). Anyway, I work 20.5 hours this week, at a enormous $5.85 an hour! I have to pay my parents $200 a month to pay off the money I owe them ($1400), but the other approx. $200 is mine! I am not too good at saving, so my first check will be going towards a JTM extension. Have any of you guys worked at a Dillon's (or similar store) before?
I knew you guys were very curious so I thought I would let you know.
Later,
Wally

Yikes 5.85 an hour. I can remember those days. I work for Safeway up here in Alaska for 14 years this march. It was supposed to be a short gig but after getting topped out 19.53 an hour plus full bennies I decided to stick around and see if anything else pops up. Work is work and you need to do something in life. As I was always told it is not what you do for a living but how hard you work at it and can say at the end of the day that you did an honest days work. Now I don't want anything from the peanut gallery, yes I work for a grocery store but it pays good.AlaskaBoy.

In alaska the starting wage at my store it is 7.50 which is are state mininum wage. Most jobs up start out at around 9 to 10 dollar mark we just start them lower because we want to see if they are going to be any good and this is a bagger wage I am quoting as you have to start out on the front end first. We are a union store too. AlaskaBoy.
