HELP - My WHEELS Do not fit on my 03 - Grizzly

Here we go - I purchased a new 03 Grizzly Hunters edition - Black factory rims ( wheels ). I pulled off the stock tires and put on a set of 589's. Everything so far is real good. I decide to buy a set of factory rims ( wheels ) off of Ebay so that I can mount my stock tires on and swap out tire / wheel sets after hunting season closes. Well here is my problem. Bought a set ( seller said they came off of his 04 Grizzly ( these are silver ). The front rims ( wheels ) when installed on my 2003 - 660 and the rims rub the tin disc brake protector on the front axle. So I take these off, look real close and these rims have a 1 1/2" first step inset on the inside of the rim ( closest to the lug holes when you look at the inside of the rim ) and my factory black ones have a 5/8" inset on the inside of the rim. So I figure I got snookered on the front rims so I buy another set this week off of Ebay from a 2002 unit, they arrive and they are inset exactly the same. HELP me here guys, what the heck is going on. Are these really rims from a 2001 or are the rims on the 2004 ( front ) not designed to fit my 2003 front and does silver vs black mean anything. P.S. -- Also the set of front tires and rims from the 2004 are Dunlop KT 131's and the set that came on my 03 bike were Dunlop's KT 135's.

Would it make any difference if you flipped the rims . So the part that is supposed to face the inside is on the outside. Dont no if it will help just throwing out ideas.
