Customs Skidplates?

For anythat that has made there own custom skidplates, what material did you use? Where did you get it? How much was it?...I want to make a full body skidplate because I don't feel like paying up over 100 bucks for one

I made my own a-arm skids last year when I has metal shop class back in highschool. It costs me nothing cuz I just used some scrap 1/8" aluminum. It was rather simple. I made a few carboard templates until I got all the angles and sizes right. It also allowed me to check for clearence issues. Then once they were done, I just polished them up.

I'm in the process of doing some custom skids for my 2001 Warrior.

I'm using 3/8" aluminum.

Try 6061 aluminum 3/16 thick then look for countersink bolts wiith allen head then you can buy a counter sink bit and your bolts will be pretty much flush
If you have access to a press you can have a machine shop make you a die and recess all your bolt holes.
Good luck

Unless you have access to a welder capable of welding aluminum (which I did, thankfully) just put as many bends in it as you can. It will look a lot cleaner and professional that way
