Hi all..I'm curious what to expect from a banshee with FMF..looks like the powercoreII and fatty pipes? Is it easier to ride? More low end, more trail ready?
Thanks, jason |
Lots more power, decent bottom, ok mid and lots of top end. Essentially the same as Toomey T5's only they cost alot less. Yeah, some guys say that the T5's outperform, but I am here to tell you that they essentially dead even. The only difference is the delivery of the power and how they feel, but in a race they are even. My friend and I have almost identical motor/gearing setups and we run even, he has the Toomey's and I have the FMF's, in fact if I had to say one is faster, it would be mine, at the top end. Later.

FMF's are excellent pipes. Listen to the veeshman, hes on the ball. I have raced more than a few Toomeys and dusted em on top end. If you look at the design of the toomeys and the FMF's they are pretty close to the same. You can order a Banshee power package (pipes/silencers, reed spacer, Boyesen reeds, and boost bottle) for less than the price of the Toomeys alone. The Toomeys look awesome in chrome, but chrome dont get you home.

Thanks for your replies. But I still have the other questions. Do the fmf produce more low end? Do they create a more trail friendly powerband? Is the power delivery smoother than stock?
Thanks, Jason |
the fmfs have enough power that you can rest your thumb on the lever and go up a pretty steep hill, maby 30 deg. but thats at almost idle.

I too have eaten the T5 with the FMF's. Now at first I was concerned with the low end but I went with the boysen reeds and boost bottle and bring it on. FMF makes some back woods pipes too.
