Building a Banshee from the ground up.... Q's

After owning several atv's, I've decided to build a banshee from a bare frame.. What years frame should I start with and why?

Thanks!

I believe the frame changed from j arms to A arms somewhere around 1989...If it were me, I would build one up with the a arms.

Other than that...I think the rest of the model years were pretty much the same.

I just see in ATV Action LRD is selling Dune-Sport Banshee frames for $1699.....That's where I'd start!!! It says..."(the chassis) joins the strenght and lightweight of a true chromoly steel frame with the geometry for competitve hillshooting and general sport riding...."

what your doing is exactly what I did, and man, I couldn't be happier with it. I don't have all the extra garbage on the handle bars, or that stupid electrical system that comes stock with it. I know exactly whats in my quad, what could go wrong with it, and man, its like legos, half the fun is putting it together. The other thing is, i would have to say, is it was expencive, but i did built a killer quad, and i did save tons of money on it. Look on ebay for alota parts. you can get some really good deals there. If you have any questions, just bring em up, and I could answer 99.9% of em for ya, if not me, alota the other people on here, they are very knowledgable, so good luck, i hope it turns out to be everything you expected

Awsome! I'm looking to build this quad to only put the parts I want on it (aftermarket or OEM). Plus Im hoping to save some money from buying new or used, plus when its done, I own it. And I like to know how things work, so when something goes wrong, I know why and how to fix it like you said. It's nice to know that I will be able to get help along the way if I need it!
