Default How risky is taking the air box lid off?

ok I am looking to buy the ct pipe package, and this requires you to take off your air box lid. I am wondering how risky this is while riding. I ride in dusty and muddy conditions. In these conditions how risky is it with the air box lid off. How many of you raptor owners out there ride with your lid off and are you having any problems. thanks

I used to ride with no lid in dusty places. I had a K&N with an outerware but then I got my new intake (check out my pics) and its running even better.

You shouldn't have any problems if you take it off.

The ct package doesnt require the removal of the lid, but it suggests it for maximum power increase. I have the ct with no lid and have never had an airbox related problem.

I run my blaster without the lid too, its nice for some extra power. You have to clean the filter regularly tho if your in dust and mud alot. My dad had mine ripped apart for something the other day and found that the lid wasnt on... so he put it back on. Of course, when I put it back on my truck that lid is coming off again!
