26" ITP 589m/s's too much for a wolverine?

im going to be buying new ITP tires/wheels for my 00 wolverine....im trying to decide between the 25/8/12-25/10/12 combination or the 26/9/12-26/11/12 one....do i have enough power/torque to turn the 26's, or will it create problems?

I wouldnt go with the 26". I just put 27" mud lites on my 99 grizzly 600 and it seems that it lost alot of power. If I were you I would go with the 25" mud lites or a lighter mud tire.

I would go with 25" Mudlites, considerably lighter than the 589's. In real thick mud, even the Mudlites may not turn as well as you would like without performance mods.

Don't go with the 589's they are to heavy and have a way to agressive tread. The mudlites would be the wise choice but don't be fooled the mud lites are not that much lighter than the 589's just a less agressive tread.

dood..i sold my 00 wolverine because it was a gutless pig even with the stockers on it..you go put those tires on it and youll be kicking yourself from now to christmas over it..not to mention your ride will suffer greatly..pick something a bit more versitile and lot smoother riding

neah....it runs just fine with the 25"vampires on it now.......the only thing that keeps me from hanging with the 660's and 700's in the mud is ground clearance, i get high centered. it has enough power (K&N flilter, jetted, supertrapp) to turn em'

go with the 25's. I know someone with the 25 mudlites and they did not loose any power

Mine does just fine with the 25" Mud Lites, been through some pretty deep stuff and haven't had to be pulled out yet.
I agree that anything over 25" you'd need some mods to make enough power to spin them though. I can actually use 1st gear on the trails now, even though through most of the tight stuff I still use 2nd or 3rd.
The Wolverine is parked until the weather gets lousy, it's bike weather now!
