Raptor won't stay idle :-(
Since we moved to CT from TX, the Raptor has been sitting in the garage more than it gets ridden :-( I usually start it once a while and ride it around my property to make sure all is still in working condition (and ready to ride, just in case... :-).
It started today and while the choke is on it idles at a unusally high RPM. Dies if I give it gas or take it off choke. I checked the parking brake cable, air filter and really don't know what could be causing this. Any suggestion you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -John |

Raptor won't stay idle :-(
I know when my choke is all the way on it will idle high as hell.
So I choke about half way for about 20 seconds then turn off choke and let idle for a couple minutes........ |

inspect your pilot jets for anything that may be clogging them. Pull them out and blow some air thru them,,,and then hold em up to the light,,,,to be sure they are clean.
I was born and raised in CT,,,,,,how do you like it up there? Be sure to visit Pepe's Pizza when you pass through New Haven. |

Thanks! That's what I'm afrad of. I hesitate to tear into the carbs, but I guess soon or later I'll have to do it... Is this easy to do? Any good ref material you can suggest?
After 12 months I think we're finally getting used to the climate. The winter was loooooooooong and cold, but other seasons were much more pleasant than Texas! |
