there are many different things to consider first, or answer. if you havent welded...trust me, practice first, even if you just go and get some scrap, dont do your first weld on your bike frame. trust me, i thought it would be real easy too, its not...it takes time to get used to it and to make things look good.

- how thick is the metal you are welding? if its thin, you will want to tig weld it with low heat.
- are you adding plates or just repairing? if adding, you need to make sure your not putting aluminum to steel.

more than likely if its tube frame piece that needs to be fixed then you can just regular wire feed weld it

ill check on mine when i get home, if its a threaded hole you might not be able to weld it, you might have to make a new plate. or just bore the hole, weld the plate, and go through it with a nut, bolt, and washer.

thanks, that pic is pretty sweet, i am workin on getting my quad pics up there, and a few of my sled too.

well in that case you should be able to throw a couple of tack welds on there and it whould be good to hold. if you go to seal weld that swhole crack it might pull the thing apart or push it together so tight that the hole could pinch together and then that bolt is in there for good. but still throw a couple of poractice welds down first thing, and make sure there isnt any gas or flammable stuff around...lol

is there ny shops ound you where you can maybe ride the ditch or side of the road to. like a fabricating shop or builder? if i were you i would do that instead of buying a welder or renting one. i know you cant haul it but if you can ride the side of the road and maybe have someone follow you with their flashers on, you should be able to get away with it, just dont drive like an animal.
