I'am new and need help!
 

I have a 1995 Kodiak 400 4x4. An I'am still learning how to do little fixes here is my questions, today I washed my atv and after I got done I went riding and when I had my atv up to 35-40 mph, it starts missing or "skipping" is it where I may have got water in the motor or did I get the spark plug wet?. do you let the atv air dry before you start riding it? my second question is how do you check the gear oil (guess what you call it) and front end oil?

Check the spark plug, make sure no water.

Check the air filter and make sure you didn't get water in the airbox or the filter wet.

Check your carb, free of any debris or water.

Drain your gas if you think you might have gotten water in there somehow.

Not sure about checking gear oil on a 95' kodiack, someone on here will know though.

To check the gear oil you will find a nut located towards the top of the case. And if you want to drain the oil you will see a drain plug located under the differential case . And if I remember correctly from my 93 Kodiak I had to remove the front skid plate. If you have any other questions let me know.

Just a little advice, when tightening that differential plug or any other bolt or plug on you new quad---make sure you use a torque wrench if you are not sure how tight to get it. Most of the hardware on your differentials and engine are aluminum and will strip out very, very easily.
