high compression piston & cam Q's ?
#1
Well I am thinking about putting a Ross high com. piston 11:1(or what ever theres is) and a Hot Cam stage 1. I already have the mods listed below in my signature. How big of a difference( seat of your pants) while riding will i feel? Also I went to a local dealer and he told me not to go that route i will lose power. He said he can get me more power, by changing my squish. I'm not too sure what he means by changing my squish. Also said that the high compression pistons are no good and i should stick with a factory yamaha piston?...What do you feel about this??
Also one question for myself, do you have to set up "the squish" when installing the new High Comp. piston?
Thanks a lot

the dealership will almost always say to stay with your yamaha factory products. you will lose some lower end when you do your cam but not that much and gain on the top end. i tossed in a hotcam stage 1 and could tell the difference. i am not sure what you will get with the piston change and what u need to do. take a good 3-4 hours for the cam install and that with someone who knows what he is doing. so you do lose some lower end but gain a bunch on the top end. i could feel a difference in the middle and top end when i did my cam.
hope this helps
