Chain bouncing need help / pics
 

Ok...I just replaced my chain....and have not changed the sprockets. I do plan
to do that this week. Could that be causing the excessive chain chatter/bouncing?

Also...Im not sure all my rollers/chain slides are right?
Does anyone or can anyone take a few pics near the chain rollers and slides(front & rear) so
I can see if what I have is ok? or if Im missing something?
My main concern is up front near the front sprocket...what the roller or slides look like

I will try to take a pic tomorrow of what I got.

the chatter is from the chai nbeing to loose... same with bouncing... also the chain should make a slightly disfigured O around the 2sprockets.. with nohigh or low points inbetween

putting a new chain on old sprockets can cause what you are describing if the rear sprocket is that bad. Is it pretty noisy to?

General rule of thumb: always change chain and sprockets as a set.

If you are letting the engine idle, in gear, with the wheels in the air, the chain is going to flop all around..... You can check the chain by getting the wheels in the air, and rotate the wheels/axle by hand, and look for tight or loose spots in the chain.... even a brand new chain will appear to have kinks in it, just because it's got tight O-rings..... So basically it should have the same "play in it's entire length...

Usually the rollers help guide and support the chain at the fully extended and fully compressed swingarm angles. But the bottom roller is the one that seems to take the most wear...

Is there some sort of slide or roller a the front of the swing arm? right near the front sprocket?

Oh yeah, when you check the "slack" in your chain, it may be necessary to firmly wiggle the chain up and down, to "stretch" the chain evenly for accurate measurement.
