I was always told that you shouldnt use synthetic oils for the first 2 or 3 oil changes in a normal car since synthetic oil is a superefficent lubricant and doesn't allow the engine to break in as well, this probably applys the same to any engine when new, and then I was also told that you should use yamalube for the first 2 or 3 oil changes in a quad, and then go to something else if you would want to.

But to answer your question, can't go wrong with yamalube.

Motors are broken in at the factory, the whole break in "myth" is wrong. Most high performance cars run synthetic from the factory, polaris quads do the same from what i hear.

 

I run Castrol 10w-30 drivehard. Although in the Blaster i run with the Yamalube tranny lube.

 

Yes, synthetic is stock in Polaris. And yes I agree about the break in myth, it is a myth at that. Corvettes run full synthetic from the factory(not that I have one...lol)

 

Looks like the Yamaha shops are getting their point across on peddling that Yamalube.
