What oil do you run?
I run 20/50 summer time or 70 grade winter time casrtol 4 stroke motorcycle oil in my raptor 660. I use bosch 3300 filters. The oil is a $1.50 a quart,,,,,,the filters are $5.00. I change my oil when ever it looks dirty and loses that gold color. I buy my oil at Wal-Mart and my filters at autozone. I have been using castrol in atv's and street bikes for years. Everyone in my family uses the same type oil in their atv's and street bikes for about twenty years with no reported mechanical engine problems ever. Just your normal wear that come with putting mile on a engine. I believe yamaha tries to push their oil extremely to hard. It is to expensive in my book. I change my oil more than the average guy I believe and I save money doing it.
this is just my opinion

yamaha lube is good oil, it don't break down like some stuff. but for the price it's over rated in my book. I d rahter change my oil more often and pay less for it that change it some times and spend a fortune.
I noticed where i live there is a guy selling amsoil out of his home. I hear allot about that oil form every one on this forum. esp the guys from california,,i wonder how good it is
