I have a 1998 blaster and piston OD diameter reads 1.593 and cylinder ID is 1.603. This is .010 difference is this correct clearance?

Those numbers can't be right. Thats almost 1/8" of clearence. If Im not mistaken there shouldn't even be 0.001" of clearnce.
From the clymer mannual: Stock balster piston has a diameter of 2.597" and the cylinder has a ID of 2.598" Piston to cylinder Clearance should be 0.0014 - 0.0016 You want to measure the piston about 10mm from the bottom of the skirt. |

Yes the piston is 2.596 cyclinder is 2.601 after I re-measured. That is a clearance of .0025 per side. Should run fine

going by what clymer says and what you wrote that would only be .001 clearance not .0014 - .0016

you would have trouble if you had 14 tho clearence on your piston. As the manual says, it's less then 0.001 tho
