Just got my Dura blue eliminator axle put on my raptor. Boy does it look tight. It is two inches wider on each side and makes the quad fly around corners not as though you couldn't with stock. You won't have to worry about breaking this one because it is indestructable not to mention has a lifetime warranty. There is definitly a noticed handling difference. It cost about 300 bucks and thats as cheap as your gonna get. Anyone else got one?

does durablue make 1 for the raptor or is it for a banshee?
i need an axle asap for my raptor!! i jumped it and bent it and that sucks but i did the same thing on my banshee so whats new.:) Please Reply asap! thanks |
I was under the impression that the Raptor and Banshee used the same rear axle, and hubs.

Did you get the wheel hubs also? What about the axle nut being on the opposite side.? Did you need to get the axle nut also?. Sorry for all the questions...I've rode my Rator 3 times and have bent the axle every time out. Not to mention I am bottoming out the rear shock. Looking at getting it re-vaulved and a new spring. Thoughts?

Yikes! What are you jumping? The Empire State Building? Do you have any video of your insane jumps?
You must have balls of solid rock! |
No, I have regular tender balls just like everybody else. I am jumping the same stuff on my Raptor that I do on my 400ex. I weigh 205 pounds and with gear I am probably pushing 215. I can't keep my chain tight either. I have to tighten my chain every time I ride.

No stock hubs fit the eliminator axle. No you don't need stock axle nuts. It fits perfect.
|
Did you have to put a Durablue axle on your 400EX also? I don't have my Raptor yet, so I haven't seen the stock axle, but I just wondered if it was considerably thinner than the Banshee axle? Or is it possible that the material isn't up to spec for a sport quad?
|
I have replaced my 400ex with another stock axle (had a little accident) and it has held up for several months now. The Raptor axle and hubs, to me, seem a little thin compared to the 400ex stock setup. Granted I do not always land perfectly,(ok.. most of the time),either on the Raptor or 400ex.

Just a word of caution... That Eliminator axle is by no means "indestructible". There are many here who have seen them break on occasions where they shouldn't have (in many cases where a stock axle has fared better), myself included.
That "lifetime" warranty only applies once, you bend or break it a 2nd time, it's your dime. In warranty cases, I have heard many occasions where people were treated poorly by Gary. |
