39mm FCR's with Yoshi pipe
#1
Just ordered my new 39mm fcr setup off craycraft for my 730 rebuild and are not sure if the carby's will clear the front pipes of the yoshi. Has anyone run this setup? ( i know this is not the best exhast for a bigbore). BTW i have the offset inlet manifold from bob, very impressed, will this help !!

From what I read the yoshi is yery good on stock motor's but for the 730 it is restrictive, especialy the head pipe. I have not had this new build running yet so I am no expert.

I've heard of a few guys running 35mm FCR's with the yoshi pipe, some have no problem others have put washers in the mounting location for a little extra room. I believe they do work but I havent seen it first hand and it will depend on the intake and filter setup you use.

Get rid of that yoshi for some Barkers or LTEs. I had the sparks on my 730, which flows more than the yoshi, and it was restricting my motor bigtime. I switched to the Barkers and it was really a huge difference. Sell that yoshi if you want top performance out of your built motor.

i was wondering the same thing but i have big gun setup .how do the barkers do on the lower end my 740 rocks down low and i know the current exhaust is holding it back. but i dont want a set up that has a huge hole in it and makes a light switch out of it.

I had the regular sparks X-6, not the race core sparks. The Barkers are definitely a more top end exhaust, but with the torque of the 730 down low, combined with Bobs custom cam, and the Barkers throwing out the exhaust, it really made a huge difference. The sparks just wasnt allowing my engine to breathe, which holds back a lot of potential. I felt a very noticeable gain over the sparks without suffering tremendously down low. I felt it was money very well spent.
On the other hand, I only got about 2 hours of riding with my new barkers before one of my exhaust valves broke and locked my entire engine up, plus took out an intake valve. But those 2 hours were a lot of fun
