Lastnight I was searching the net and I saw this website so I clicked on it, and then when I got there there was a rumor mill, so I clicked on it and saw that Yamaha is maybe going to bring out a 250 4-stroke version of the Blaster. Same frame, chassis, suspension and the whole deal.

Except that the 4 stroke is supposed to put out more horsepower per cc than the 426, and it's supposed to red line at 14000 rpms. IT sounds like a rippin motor. But, the chassis would need a little more to it, length and width wise. Anyway, it would be cool! Keep our hopes up! It seems Yamaha is the only one really stepping up against the 650cc sport threat. Hope others plan on doing something!

first of all--to Rottwolf--glad to hear from you!!

:)

second of all....

The 250 Blaster exists!!
At least as an engineering study.
The motor is Yamahas' double overhead cam 250,
as in the dirt bike. It can reach 14,500 rpms.
The head is the patented 5 valve design, much newer than the Raptor single overhead cam motor.
I don't know if it is or is not a counterbalanced
motor, but I don't think Yamaha would put it into a Blaster without the counterbalancer. The physical size of the motor is very small (for a 4-stroke) and is very light in weight.
The addition of a Kasea hydro rear disc brake has also been rumored.
This 250 4-stroke Blaster would set the ATV industry on its' ear.

I also say a article in dirtwheels about putting a YZ250 motor in one

Kawasaki's mojave is a 250 4-stroke. Yamaha will have to make a change soon if they want to keep there share of the market. The mojave is faster, has a better suspension and has a lot more power. The mojave is 30 kg heavier than the blaster but so what, it out performs the blaster everywhere. 4-strokes are going to replace 2-strokes soon, All my riding buddies have blasters and I have a 2001 mojave and my friends can't stop raving about it. It just gets stronger every time we ride. Anyway, it's just a matter of time.......Well thats what I think anyway.
