Banshee or yfz 450??

What are some pros and cons on the two bikes and which would be more suitable for trail riding? Also what is the price difference between the two? Thnx for all replies.

For trail riding, I would choose the yfz over the banshee because its a 4 stroke. Normally it also depends on wether the bike has reverse or not but neither bikes do. Most people choose 4 strokes over 2 for trail riding because of the low rpm torque over the 2 strokes which you have to constantly keep them revved up to stay in the powerband. The banshee I also heard isn't a very comfortable ride.

i would say a 450 due to the fact that they are the all around better machine, track, trail, dunes wherever.. plus they are a 4 stroke, that gains some points in my book lol, the banshee is great for the dunes though..i think that is all i would have a banshee for is the dunes..endless possibilities for mods..

Banshee or yfz 450??

Well, after not riding my shee for 2 1/2 months, Ive spent the last few days on her and god d@mm I guess I forgot what a thrill ride the banshee is. The banshee is not as comfortable as a ds650, or raptor, but it's ok, and is more comfortable than a yfz450, or even 450r {seating arangement not suspension}. As for a trail bike, you can get "mid range" pipes or even a 2 into 1 pipe to make the shee a great trail bike. The only negative on the banshee is it's fuel consumption. 3 gals of gas =$6.60 plus the 12 oz of 2-stroke oil=4.50. Thats $11.10 for 3 gallons of banshee fuel. The shee will drink this dry in 2 to 2 1/2 hours of hard riding. Banshee = gas guzzler.

It's good that you mention that! Suspension wise, the banshee IMO has horrible front and back suspension! The banshee power is insane though, you gotta love the powerband. Speed and acceleration for both is dead even, that it all comes down to the driver. (in a drag) In the track, the YFZ will beat it due to the better suspension, and lower center of gravity. Woods, I like the YFZ because of the smooth 4-stroke powerband, which you don't have to be down shifting often. Now dunes, they both rock in the dunes, with a slight preference to the banshee, beacuse of the crazy powerband it has!

Good luck! You're heading the right way with either one!

Yeah the shee had the worst suspension of all the 2-strokes of the day. I would love to trick one out tho {suspension}. If you put a 2 into 1 pipe on a shee it smooths out the power band {tame} and gives it more low and mid power than top end. The same for the single carb set up. Back in the day, many a gncc event was won by banshee with a set up like this.
