I want a 700R but i think i am going to play it safe and get one in a year just to make sure there are no big problems with them. Does anyone know what it will take for a 660R to hang with a 700R in a drag race? Im not sure if piped/jetted and high flow air filter would be enough. Would it be more along the lines of an aftermarket 686? thanks

Waiting a year or two is a good idea. As far as a 660 keeping up with a 700, a 686 bore kit would deffinetly do it. With a pipe and filter you will be able to keep up with him in a race, i dont know if you would be able to win, but then again it depends on a lot og things.

After reading about several raptors with the 686 kits sending thier rods through the case I would say if you go 686 make sure its a crank up rebuild and not just a big bore piston build. Just an idea

Ya with a pipe, jet kit, and high flow air filter it would proably be close depending on the rider. After thinking about it i think an aftermarket 686 kit would take it beacuse it would have a higher compression ratio and it would be more opened up. I remember when my Raptor was stock it felt stuffed up, and very restrictive,i dont know if its the same deal with the 700R. I have heard of problems with the aftermarket 686's as AZDUNERAT talked about in previous forums. Its a tough call

A piped, jetted, filtered raptor will DEFINATLY not take it. It mat seem like its only 28cc bigger but the fuel injection deos alot.

I don't know boys, I think I'm with Zim on this one. I for one would have too "see" a stock 700R beat my ol 660 with a full pipe and open intake.
